@KingNotBozo: Gonna go ahead and deny Javascript. Looking at the extension page, the extension is currently unmaintained, and it also requires users to have server access to add JS. You should just use MediaWiki:Common.js and Skin.js. Part-up (Status: Done?)

  • Enable the visual editor.
  • In the current situatie when you add an external link you have to proof that you are a robot. Is it possible to remove this?

VisualEditor is enabled. You can remove the need for entering a captcha by assigning the 'confirmed' user right, subpages are possible (please let me know for which namespaces), I don't know if it's possible to use those templates (although I have enabled the Scribunto extension just in case), and I can disable anonymous editing if you want. Thanks, Southparkfan! Regarding the subpages. I don't know exactly what namespaces are. I looked on Wikipedia (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naamruimte) for help. What I would like to do is create subpages from the starting page https://partup.miraheze.org. Is this enough information? Regarding the anonymous editing. Het voordeel van de template die ik op Wikimedia projecten gebruik is dat e.e.a. gelijk op de juiste manier uitgelijnd wordt. Nee, de Translate-extensie maakt het mogelijk om pagina's op dezelfde wiki ook op dezelfde wiki in andere talen te vertalen met behulp van een daarvoor gemaakte interface. Southparkfan (talk) 10:40, 24 December 2015 (UTC)

When using the "Insert"->"Media"-Dialog the dialog finds every image on Miraheze (I assume) and not just the images of this wiki. Can that be adjusted? Also I can't seem to upload images when using the Visual Editor. Only when using the "Edit Source"-Editor I have this "Drop files here"-possibility from MSUpload and an "Select Files"-button. That makes inserting images uncomfortable and slow. Edit after some research: Oh the normal way is to use the "Upload file" on the left, and manually inserting the filename into the tag. Wikia had a more direct way to upload and insert images. Is there an extension for that? --Gawag (talk) 23:02, 23 January 2016 (UTC)

@Lemondoge: As SleepyMode said above, we cannot let any user edit our settings page for security reasons. Just tell us what settings you need and we will do them for you as soon as possible (generally under 4 days if it's not a new extension). Scribunto is  Done. Also, it seems that the "Founder" group exists, as I requested on one of my requests for features (on Quantum [I think so]) but I don't seem to be in that group. I know this might be SLIGHTLY unrelated to this, but could you please add me to that group? Also, I would also like the "Founder" group to have some sort of right allowing it to create and edit special pages. One more thing too-could there also be a protection level for "Founder" (that is, a protection level which could both; only be added to pages by the "Founder" group, and; pages with that protection could only be edited by the "Founder" group.) @Lemondoge: I'll put you in the group in a moment. I'm at work so it might be a while before the other changes are made. The founder protection is easy. Special Pages aren't created on wiki at all.. you should read up on them a little. Oh it's working now properly! I was really confused the last time I checked it. NoTitle seemed to be enabled (Special:Version page) but it wasn't working (Ctrl+F5 in Firefox didn't help). @Lemondoge: for now I've set the logo/favicon to be the commons link because I trust that site and don't think I'm causing any problems. In the future, when requested, please upload the file to your wiki. There's a reason we stopped uploading logos to Meta Wiki. Things for your wiki should exist on your wiki. Now if that file is reuploaded else where (which you don't have any control over) the wiki logo/favicon will change. Additionally, commons files are available for in-line image links because of interwiki linking and instant commons being enabled. Either of which could be removed. The file on your wiki is based on a URL path to the full file page, so it being on an external site causes it to be different.
"Anyways, you probably know that files on Commons are available on all other wikis, right?" Just quoting this because of how silly it sounded. Again, this is done on wiki because instant commons is enabled. This doesn't work with setting $wgLogo to a local link.

Stewards are not responsible for private wikis at all. They're job is only to do things normal users can't in terms of high level access and management of abuse. All of this is easily handled through LocalSettings and there is no reason anyone can't do it. John (talk) 14:55, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

No... I would mainly make them go to either other wikimedia project pages (for example, I would make a interwiki prefix which would be "extension", and would go to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:$1) or even namespace aliases (for example, CAJSB would go to https://cssandjsschoolboard.miraheze.org/wiki/Css_and_Js_schoolboard:$1). Anyways, I don't even really know many virus websites! Also, I DO NOT know how to code a website, nor a virus website. Additionally, I would use the Mediawiki:Common.css page to color the interwiki links (anyways, I've been a EXPERT at CSS since I got interested into it when I looked at w:Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how you see your signature.) One more thing: Meta wikis do share their interwiki table with the wikis of that farm, but that doesn't mean the interwiki table can't be customized locally! I'm still not happy about splitting off the table as a central one seems betters and would be more effectively managed. Namespace aliases should also be configured in LocalSettings not using an interwiki. MediaWiki also has a link already so I don't see the need to add another one. To me, risks outweigh the positives in a global sense but I don't object to doing it per wiki. So I'm leaving it up to others to decide if it should be done for this wiki, I don't object I just don't see a demonstrated need besides (in theory) bypassing configuration changes. Oh, that's okay. I'm also busy these days. Thanks for Poll. However, I'm still getting error with VisualEditor (maybe, that's it - parsoidserver-http-not-found: 404). Though, while I'm used to simple WikiEditor, it isn't so urgent. More than VisualEditor, I would like to see WikiHiero (it is simple in installation, I guess). I appreciate your work, thanks! NickB. Hi, sorry for the delay. This has been resolved. I don't regularly check this page (mostly because my work isn't specifically focused on managing MediaWiki, more backend stuff like Parsoid for example) and no one told me there was an issue. I've looked and the issue was a syntax mistake which prevented your wiki from being registered. I have resolved this and it now works as expected. Thanks! John (talk) 18:59, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
